In a 2013 Ford Escape, there is a light settings panel located to the right of the steering wheel. This panel features plus and minus buttons for dimming the lights. If the panel or lights are not functioning, it's recommended to check the fuse. To access the fuse box, look to the left of the steering wheel for a small seam or crack on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, there will be various fuses. Refer to the diagram on the back of the panel or consult the owner's manual for the vehicle to identify the specific fuse needed. Remove the fuse by pulling it out – visually inspect to ensure the thin metal strip connecting the two sections is intact. If the strip is broken, the fuse needs replacing; otherwise, it can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are relatively inexpensive, costing around 10 dollars.
