To activate the heated seats in a BMW X3, you should press the heated seat button located to the left of the steering wheel. The button resembles a seat with lines extending from it. If the heated seat isn't working, it may be due to a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, look for a small seam or crack on the left side of the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you'll find various fuses. Refer to the diagram on the back of the panel to understand the function of each fuse. If the diagram isn't there, you can also consult the vehicle's owner's manual. Identify the fuse that needs replacement by checking for a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If the strip is broken, the fuse is faulty and should be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still operational. Replacement fuses are affordable, costing around $10.
