How do I deactivate the indoor lighting in a Ford F-150?

To switch off the interior lights in your Ford F-150, you simply need to move the switch next to the lights from the ON position to the OFF position. This switch is usually a rocker style and can be found near the dome lights. Even if you turn off this switch, the lights will still turn on when you open the door, and this feature cannot be disabled. However, Ford offers a "dark mode" that can be enabled by your dealership. This mode, originally intended for law enforcement officers but available to the public, turns off the interior lights and courtesy running/parking lights when the door is opened. Please note that this setting can only be adjusted by the dealer through the onboard computer, and if you wish to change it back, you will need to visit the dealership again.

Simply remove the bulbs if you'd prefer not to visit the dealership. If you don't want them lit up, you probably don't need them anyway, haha.

Absolutely not. Feel free to press that button repeatedly in my 2015 vehicle, but the lights will not switch off. It can be amusing to sit and wait for the lights to turn off after getting out of the truck. It can be a hassle, though. Luckily, the XLT model has a door switch that actually functioned properly this time. Who knows what will happen next time... Just frustrating.

To turn off the lights in any vehicle, open the door and flip the door latch. Then, use a screwdriver to help push and pull the handle until the latch opens.
