Once it's off, you can slide in the replacement filter. Ford suggests using the Motorcraft brand, typically the FG872 model. Some signs that it's time to change the filter include trouble starting your car, rough idling, frequent stalling, sluggish acceleration, or a drop in fuel efficiency.
