The Nissan Altima key fob is equipped with a non-rechargeable coin-style battery instead of a rechargeable one. If a warning light alerts you that the fob's battery is running low, it’s time to replace it. To swap out the battery, take out the manual key, open the fob, and remove the old battery from the circuit board, replacing it with one of the same size. Normally, the fob's battery lasts around 2 to 3 years before needing to be changed, and the process is simple and can be done on your own if necessary.
