To access the engine compartment of your 2019 Acura RDX, start by pulling the hood release lever located on the left side of the driver's wall near where your left foot is positioned. You should hear a click as the hood is released. Next, locate the safety latch on the underside of the hood and release it to fully open the hood. The hood latch is usually found in the middle of the hood close to the front grille. When closing the hood, gently lower it until there is about a foot of space left and then let it drop. Ensure that the hood is securely latched in place before driving. It is important to make sure that the hood is securely closed while driving as it could unexpectedly open, obstructing your view and potentially causing damage to your windshield.
