If the "Service AdvanceTrac" light is appearing on your Ford F-150, there are a few ways to address it. One option is to use an OBD-II scan tool to clear the codes after making any needed repairs, which should turn off the light. However, if you don't have access to a scanner, you can try a different method that doesn't require expensive tools. Note that simply disconnecting the battery with the ignition off won't solve the issue. To try an alternative approach, first turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Next, disconnect the battery for at least five minutes while keeping the ignition in the "ON" position the whole time. Reconnect the battery and start the car, which should ideally clear the code and turn off the AdvanceTrac light.

I have an issue with my 2011 F150 5.0 V8 where the "check advance track" system sometimes activates and the vehicle goes into limp mode.
