Alternatively, you can remove the specific fuse related to the alarm from the fuse box and wait a comparable duration. This method targets only the alarm system for reset. Keep in mind that disconnecting the battery will reset multiple functions, while pulling just the fuse resets only the alarm. Make sure to refer to the fuse diagram to identify the correct fuse for the alarm system.

In 2001, I had some trouble with my Tacoma's Anti Theft system after I removed and replaced the battery. When I put the battery back in, the horn beeped briefly, then I couldn't start the car. I tried turning the ignition switch on and off multiple times as suggested, and once the beeping finally stopped, I was able to start the car. However, every time I opened the car door, the beeping started again. I'm looking for a solution to prevent the horn from going off unnecessarily. After contacting the dealer, I was advised to bring the car in, but the Toyota dealer is a 45-minute drive away. Despite trying some "simple" fixes found online, none of them have resolved the issue so far.
