To re-align the sliding door on a 2012 Honda Odyssey, start by disconnecting the battery and manually closing the doors. Next, simultaneously press and hold both sliding door buttons before restarting the vehicle. Now, let's discuss the advantages of a sliding door. One benefit is that automatic doors can help save energy and reduce heating and cooling costs. These doors only open when activated and automatically close, preventing them from being left open and stopping air-conditioned air from escaping while keeping out outside air and dust. On the downside, the sliding door mechanism is heavier than a regular door, which can slow down the vehicle. Additionally, the maintenance for the sliding mechanism is frequent and costly, presenting both positives and negatives to consider.

No, the sliding doors will only open when the vehicle is turned off or the key is in the accessory position. If the key is in position two or the car is running, the main open and close buttons will not work to open or close the doors.

In 2012, my Odyssey had a faulty alternator which caused all the warning lights to light up, followed by the dashboard going dark, including the tachometer and the speedometer. I replaced the alternator and battery, but now the power doors won't open using the buttons on the dashboard when the car is running. Additionally, the power door locks do not work with the master button while the vehicle is running.

Unplug the battery and shut the doors by hand. Next, simultaneously hold down both buttons for the sliding doors and then restart the system.
