To stop the radio in a 2019 Mazda CX5, you can lower the volume knob or hit the pause button on the dashboard or steering wheel. There isn't a dedicated power-off button, but you can remove the fuse for a longer shutdown. The fuse is located in the driver's side fuse panel under the dashboard. Keep in mind this will reset the radio, requiring you to re-enter your saved stations.

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 does not have a radio on/off button, so you need to lower the volume instead. It's frustrating that for a price of $35,000, they didn't include a simple $3 on/off button.

That's right, there isn't a simple "off-on" switch for the radio. You can either lower the volume completely or mute it, but you can't switch it off entirely. It's puzzling why they decided to leave out such a fundamental feature.

You can press the power button on the radio to shut it down.

There's no way to turn it off, only to mute it. But is it draining the battery? The screen is still on. How do I switch it off?

I think there might be a misunderstanding with the 2024 Mazda CX-5 Signature's audio controls. Firstly, pressing the volume knob mutes the radio instead of turning it off. Secondly, holding down the volume knob for a few seconds does turn off the radio, but it also shuts down the whole Mazda Connect display. Oddly, when you turn the car off and back on, the radio resumes playing the last station. This setup appears confusing to me.
