To switch the cruise control in mph on your Ford Escape, just do the following easy steps. First, tap the "Settings" tab on the SYNC display, then scroll down and pick "General", scroll again and choose "Distance", and finally select "MPH". To activate the cruise control, hit the "SET +" button when you've reached your desired speed and take your foot off the gas pedal. Your speed will stay steady until you either step on the brake pedal or hit the cancel button, marked as "X" on the steering wheel controls. To change your speed, press and hold either the "SET +" or "SET -" buttons until you reach your preferred speed.

That information is completely false, that suggestion won't do the trick.

To switch the cruise control setting to miles per hour on the Ford Escape, navigate to the SYNC display, select Settings, go to General, and then choose Distance.

I’m on the same page as Robert - tweaking the distance setting won’t fix the problem.

Just like what others have mentioned earlier, there is no quick solution for the problem concerning Canadian cars that were re-imported. While the information is not physically engraved on the dashboard, like it used to be with backlit displays, it is still just as fixed in place. The only way to resolve this issue is by fitting a new instrument panel with the accurate display and resetting the mileage to match the current reading on the vehicle. This task is also quite challenging as dealers are hesitant to carry it out due to restrictions from Ford policy or state regulations. Such is life.

Robert is absolutely right that it will not solve the issue. I reached out to FORD but did not receive any assistance. The salesperson suggested that I should try to learn French.
