If your Acura MDX is showing a mute icon on the screen, it likely received a mute signal from an external device. One suggestion is to connect a smartphone to the USB port and adjust the volume on the phone to attempt to unmute the screen. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you should fully power off the head unit by disconnecting the battery for approximately 10 minutes. This action will reset the computer within the head unit, clearing the mute signal and restoring normal functionality.

We've experienced this issue twice since buying our MDX. The solution is to either press the voice command button on the steering wheel or make a call using the phone connected to CarPlay.

You gotta crank up the volume or mute it once more.

Earlier today, my car only showed "Mute Sc" with no available buttons to correct it! By mistake, I pressed the voice button and instructed the car to unmute — it worked! That particular button is used for voice commands to the car. I hope this explanation clarifies things for you.

I had a problem with my car audio system, but I couldn't find a mute button. So, I stopped the car, disconnected my iPhone for a few minutes, restarted the car, checked the volume on the radio (which was working), and then plugged my phone back in. That fixed the issue, and now my music is playing from my phone again. I must have accidentally muted the system somehow. I hope this solution works for you too.
