If ever the Ford Transit gas cap becomes locked and won't open, you'll have to replace it. To do so, use locking pliers to grip the cap tightly and twist it counterclockwise until the plastic pieces holding the lock break and the cap comes off. Once removed, buy a new gas cap from an auto-parts store; if they don't have the right part, contact the dealership to order one for you. The price of a replacement locking fuel cap can range from $30 to $50, depending on whether it's aftermarket or OEM.
