In newer model years of the Subaru Outback, you can customize the height of the rear liftgate to make loading easier. Setting this feature might seem complex at first, but it's actually straightforward once you understand the steps. It's particularly handy if you frequently transport items on the roof of your Outback since you can lower the liftgate to avoid any obstructions. To begin, manually open the liftgate and adjust it to the desired height before closing it. Then, access the driver's side of the car and press the memory button while keeping it pressed. Return to the back of the car, hold down the close button for 3-4 seconds, and listen for an audible tone to confirm that the memory has been saved.
Press the memory set button by the steering wheel and then release the liftgate manually before raising it to your desired level.
