How do you pop the hood on a Ford Fusion?

To open the hood of a Ford Fusion, first, park the car on a flat surface and engage the parking brake. Find the hood release handle beneath the dashboard's lower-left corner and pull it to pop the hood slightly. Then shift the hood latch lever, located under the front edge and towards the center, to the side to fully open the hood. Once the hood is lifted a bit, you can let go of the lever. Take out the support rod from the clamp using the grip and secure it into place under the hood. When closing, detach the support rod, place it back in the clamp, and softly lower the hood. Lower it to about 12 inches (30 cm), release your hands, and allow the hood to shut completely.

Locate the hood release lever on the driver's side door. Pull the lever forward to release the hood. Step out of the car and search for another lever beneath the hood, typically on the left side and colored brightly. Pull that lever and then lift the hood.
