To remove the fuel tank from a Ford Transit, the first step is to ensure the tank is close to empty. Use a pump to extract most of the fuel to reduce the weight. Carefully unscrew the bolts and brackets (remember to mark them for easier reinstallation). Have a couple of stands ready for the tank to rest on after removing the bolts. Trim any protruding bolts from the floor to prevent them from puncturing the tank. Access the seat bracket mounts from beneath the vehicle to avoid interference with the frame and beams. Lifting the vehicle for extra clearance space is highly recommended due to the tight space underneath the Transit.
