To replace the battery in a 2013 Chevy Equinox, start by opening the hood and finding the battery under the computer module on the driver's side near the fender apron. Take out the three Phillips screws that secure the battery cover, lift off the cover, and disconnect the negative battery cable using a wrench. Repeat the process for the positive cable, lift out the old battery, and place it aside. Insert the new battery in the compartment, reconnect the positive cable first and then the negative cable, ensuring they are securely fastened. Replace the battery cover and tighten the three Phillips screws, being careful not to overtighten and damage the threads. Reinstall the computer module, ensuring it locks into place.
