There are a few reasons you might need to reset the Engine Control Unit (ECU) on your Honda Odyssey. If you notice a sudden drop in fuel efficiency, resetting the ECU could offer a temporary solution. Additionally, after adding aftermarket parts to your vehicle, resetting the ECU can help the computer adjust to the new components. Sometimes, a malfunctioning check engine light may persist, in which case resetting the ECU can clear the issue. To reset the ECU, start by opening the hood and locating the fuse box near the passenger's side. Remove the relevant fuses, then wait around 10 minutes before re-inserting them. Finally, re-install the ECU and backup fuses to complete the reset process. Your ECU should now be reset, and you're all set.
