To reset the Honda Pilot's moonroof, start by keeping the driver's door shut throughout the process. First, turn the ignition to the LOCK (0) position or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode. Next, press and hold the tilt switch while turning the ignition to ON (II) or pressing the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode. Release the tilt switch, and then return the ignition to LOCK (0) or select OFF mode. Repeat this process in steps 3 and 4 four times, making sure each step is completed within 5 seconds. Test the AUTO OPEN and CLOSE functions to see if they still work. If they do, return to step 1. If the AUTO functions have been cleared, proceed to step 7. Hold down the moonroof close switch until the moonroof fully opens. Confirm the reset by testing the moonroof's AUTO OPEN and CLOSE functions.

To reposition the sunroof on the Honda Pilot, first activate the sunroof function and fully open it. Then, press and hold the open button for 12 seconds.

Hello! I'm experiencing an issue with my 2011 Pilot's sunroof. Yesterday, it started acting up by reopening after I tried closing it all the way. I found a workaround in an online forum (closing it gradually). Today, my son attempted to open it, but it seems to be stuck on one side. When the right side tries to open, it moves back a bit, accompanied by clanking noises from the left side, causing the sunroof to get stuck. I tried performing the reset procedure by pressing the TILT position for over 13 seconds, but towards the end, I hear a noise indicating something is jammed. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Keep pressing the tilt button until it starts to move slowly and closes completely, then moves back up and down. Once it stops, press the button once to reset it to normal operation. I discovered this after my son got something stuck in the opening while trying to stand up, but I'm relieved it worked!

I found this tip to be extremely useful in successfully closing my moonroof. The trick is to quickly repeat steps 3 and 4 several times: press and hold tilt, turn the power on, release tilt, turn the power off, and do this sequence four times in swift succession each time.

My sunroof is going through the same issue as Juan's. I managed to close it, but one side is still lower than the other. Any ideas on how to fix it?

In my situation, it doesn't open backwards to intrude onto the roof, but it does open upwards and closes. Can someone assist me?

I tried everything mentioned above but none of it worked. Thank you all for sharing your experiences, though. Just when I was about to give up, I tried pressing the close button repeatedly - first pressing close, then letting go, and so on until it finally closed completely. Special thanks to Juan for suggesting the technique of closing it gradually. 🙏🏼🙂
