To clear the oil light in a 2008 Acura MDX, start by having the key in the ignition turned to the ON position, just before starting the engine. If your vehicle has a smart key button, press it twice without pressing the brake as you normally do. Use the SEL/RESET button on the lower right side of the steering wheel to navigate until you see the REMAINING OIL LIFE displayed. Press the button again and hold it for at least 10 seconds to enter the oil life reset mode. Select reset using the INFO button, then press the SEL/RESET button once. The oil life should show 100 percent. Turn the key to OFF, then start the engine to confirm the reset.
