The average lifespan of a Dodge Ram 1500 is about 15 years. By following the recommended maintenance schedule from the manufacturer, along with timely major services and regular oil changes, your Dodge Ram should easily exceed 100,000 miles. These trucks are built to be durable for the long haul. To ensure a longer lifespan for your vehicle, it’s important to heed any warning signs such as gauges, lights, or alerts. Disregarding these warnings could result in a breakdown on the roadside or lead to costly damages if you continue driving. Regularly monitor and top off your fluids, replace air filters, and inspect and rotate your tires to keep your Dodge Ram running smoothly for years to come.

Here's a paraphrased and unique version: I drive a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 that has clocked 385,000 miles with its original transmission and Hemi Engine and doesn't have any leaks. I am now on my third radiator, as each one has lasted around 120,000 miles. Initially, I used conventional oil for the first 100,000 miles, but now I've switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic. I make sure to change the oil every 5,000 miles and always give the engine time to warm up before driving.

Can someone assist me in figuring out the issue with my 1999 vehicle? It stalled the other day, and I couldn't get it to start. Upon diagnosing, I realized it wasn't getting a spark, so I replaced the coil and it started. However, it is now running poorly and making unpleasant sounds. It seems to be running unevenly and sluggish, with a slight misfire. I've already changed the spark plugs and wires, but the problem persists. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

I own a 4.7-liter Ram 1500 with 249,000 kilometers on it, and it's still running strong since 2013.

In 2004, the 4.7 liter engine was overhauled at 199,000 miles and the 5-speed manual transmission was swapped out at 245,000 miles.

In 2004, I got a Ram 1500SLT with a 4.7 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It's a 4x4 with 340,000 miles on it. I had the rear end rebuilt at 240,000 miles, replaced the clutch and radiator once, and the alternator once. It had been running strong until yesterday when the clutch blew again while I was pulling a 1974 school bus. Since I got it in 2005, I've really put this truck through the wringer. It's been my main workhorse, hauling trailers across the Western states and serving as my hunting rig. I've modified it, added a chip and new exhaust, and even raced it on the streets - and it's been reliable every step of the way. Although, I've had issues with the CV axles, having to replace them along with front shocks and driveshafts due to my off-roading adventures. It's been through a lot, from jumps to rough terrain, getting me home safe every time, except for that one instance when the front hub assembly gave out about 5,000 miles ago. Overall, it's the best truck I've ever owned.

I drive a 2012 Ram 1500 that has racked up 237,000 miles. I've been dealing with a low oil pressure issue for some time now. When I first got the truck, it only had 24,000 miles on it. Over the years, different mechanics have warned me that I might need a new engine sooner than later, starting at 165,000 miles. However, despite the low oil pressure, my truck still runs smoothly and feels as good as new. It seems like it's not bothered by the issue at all.

I drive a 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 with 290,000 miles on it. The original engine and transmission are still going strong, but I've started noticing that the drive shaft feels a bit clunky lately.

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with 4-wheel drive that has 298,000 miles and is still going strong. I recently replaced the rear differential, change the oil every 5000 miles, clean the radiator annually, and replaced the catalytic converter, resulting in improved gas mileage. The ball joints need replacing but besides that, the truck runs well.
