The Chevy HHR is expected to last up to 200,000 miles or about 15 years, assuming proper maintenance. Following the recommended maintenance schedule outlined in the owner's manual, including regular oil changes, spark plug replacements, tire rotations, filter changes, and fluid checks, is crucial for extending the vehicle's lifespan. Additionally, addressing any check engine light warnings or trouble codes promptly is essential. By taking the car for yearly tune-ups and addressing any issues, the vehicle should be able to reach its maximum expected lifespan. Ignoring these maintenance tasks, however, could cut the vehicle's lifespan in half or even less.

I own a 2006 HHR with 110,000 miles on it, and it still runs just as well as the day I drove it off the lot. I make sure to keep up with the regular maintenance, and I absolutely adore this car. I can't say the same for the newer, more expensive vehicles I've purchased.

I purchased a 2006 model right when it was released. It currently has 56,000 miles on it, mostly because I don't drive long distances. The mileage would have been much lower if my boyfriend hadn't been using it a lot; he put an extra 22,000 miles on it in 9 months. At 54,000 miles, I had to replace the alternator and belt. When the alternator initially broke, I tried to restart the car, but later found out that the cylinder heads were also damaged, so those had to be replaced too. Interestingly, even after replacing the alternator, it kept failing repeatedly. After dealing with 7 replacements, I decided to give up and bought a 2008 model two years ago. It currently has 110,000 miles and so far has had no issues. I really like the design of these cars and I wish they would manufacture them again.

I used to own a 2011 HHR which was hands down the best car I've ever had. It had clocked around 325,000 miles and was still running smoothly until my son crashed it into a telephone pole. Thanks to the car's safety features, my son survived the accident. This car was truly amazing, no question about it.

I have purchased 150,000 lug nut covers from AutoZone so far, but I keep experiencing issues with them falling off. I have to modify the notches by grinding them down to make them fit through the hub cap, but frustratingly, they continue to come loose.

My 2009 HHR LS is a real trooper (I put in 300 miles daily driving for Uber and Lyft). It's currently hit the 200,000-mile mark and I've scheduled a tune-up. Keeping the brakes in good shape is a struggle with my line of work, but I've solved the problem by investing in high-quality GM OEM pads and rotors (pricey but a worthwhile investment). Dealing with front-end problems is vital (damn potholes). I'm a big fan of this car.

I've owned two HHR's. The first was a 2011 model with over 100,000 miles on it. I sold it to a friend for $2,500 in excellent mechanical condition, but it had issues with the window and the inside door handle was broken. I also had problems with the rear bulbs. My sister then gave me her 2007 HHR with 80,000 miles, which was in good condition. However, I had to replace the motor at 113,000 miles. I believe I can keep this one running for at least another 200,000 miles. I believe that as long as you keep up with regular maintenance, any car can last a long time.
