The 2015 Ford Focus requires 4.5 quarts of oil. It is important to change the oil regularly, typically every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. Failing to do so can lead to engine issues. Using high-quality oil is crucial for optimal engine performance. Neglecting oil changes can result in engine failure and may cause a noticeable burning smell. It is essential to address any issues promptly to avoid potential hazards such as poor gas mileage and engine knocking noises.

The 2015 Ford Focus has different oil capacities for each trim level based on the engine variations. For example, the SE 3-cylinder trim requires around 4.3 quarts, while the S, SE 4-cylinder, and Titanium models need about 4.5 quarts. The ST trim level, on the other hand, has a larger capacity of approximately 5.7 quarts.

Typically, I change my oil every 4,000 miles. I use 4.5 quarts of full synthetic oil and make sure to fill the oil filter before putting it in. To prevent burning oil and smoke, I use brake cleaner to remove excess oil from the top of the filter and wipe it dry. I tighten the drain plug to about 20 foot-pounds and only hand tighten the filter. I also apply a bit of oil to the rubber ring on the oil filter with my finger to ensure a secure seal.
