The 2016 Volvo XC90 with the 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo engine requires 6 quarts of 0W-30 for cold weather or 5W-30 for normal weather when changing the oil in the car. When getting ready to do an oil change, make sure the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a few hours to avoid burns from hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket beneath the plug, remove it, and let the oil drain into the pan until it stops dripping, which could take around an hour. Once the draining is done, replace the plug, then find the oil intake port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's better to have a little less than too much oil to prevent leaks and excessive oil burning. After filling, seal the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're all set.
