The Mitsubishi Lancer typically lasts between 150,000 and 200,000 miles in total. This estimate can be influenced by various factors. Besides accidents or physical harm to the car, ensuring regular maintenance will help keep your vehicle performing at its best. It's recommended to change the oil, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, filters, and other components every 6,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. In certain situations, you may need to bring in your car more frequently, such as every 5,000 miles or 6 months.

I have 200,000 miles on my Lancer and it still runs like it's fresh off the lot. I haven't done any maintenance on it - in fact, I haven't even changed the oil in 40 to 50,000 miles. Before anyone gets upset, I couldn't care less if the car breaks down. Right now, I'm just having fun with this little experiment.

I purchased a 2011 Lancer sportback with 231,000 miles and a manual transmission, and it runs great. I use it for delivering pizza, and I think it will easily go over 300,000 miles – at least I hope so, haha!

I have a 2001 Lancer GLX with over 300,000 kilometers on it, and it's still running smoothly. I believe the cast iron engine block from that era is a key factor in its durability, along with regular maintenance.

I drive a 2008 Lancer ES with 191,000 miles on it, and it's running as good as new. It really packs a punch when you step on the gas.

  • Ernest C

My car has clocked 473,000 kilometers and it still runs like it just rolled off the lot. This vehicle has proven to be the most dependable on Earth. It hadn't needed any repairs until hitting 450,000 kilometers, at which point only the starter motor needed replacing. My 2002 coupe is an absolute gem - definitely a long-term keeper! And, of course, I've been the sole owner.

I have a 1995 Lancer mk V Evo 2 with 240,000 kilometers on it. It has had some routine maintenance done. With proper upkeep, it could last for 50 years or more, reaching 400,000 kilometers or beyond with the replacement of essential parts. Once it complies with European emission regulations, it will likely perform excellently on rough roads in the Congo. It will definitely outlast me.

My 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer rally car has 222,000 miles on it, and it's still running well. I had a motor failure, but I replaced it with a brand new rebuilt engine. The car is now in great condition.

In 2008, I purchased a manual GTS that had been previously damaged in a pole collision and restored. Since then, I've only encountered minor maintenance problems. I have replaced tie rods, brakes, motor mounts, belts, hoses, and the clutch. The odometer indicated 65,000 miles when I acquired it, and now, five years later, it reads 225,000 miles. Whenever I have it serviced, it starts like a charm and runs smoothly, just like new.

I own a 2012 Lancer with a manual transmission and over 130,000 miles on it. Over the years, I've made some standard upgrades like replacing the alternator, wheel bearings (recently), clutch, brakes, calipers, and rotors with slotted-drill performance parts, and adding a cold air intake. I've also installed additional performance enhancements like coilover kits, front and rear sway bars, a catback-axle exhaust system, a new catalytic converter, and custom headlights. The car is running great now, and I have no plans to turbocharge it. My cousin has a 2011 model with similar upgrades and it has over 249,876 miles on it. I believe that with regular maintenance, these cars can keep going until the wheels fall off. It's so good now that I might as well have bought an EVO from Japan.

My car is a 2010 Lancer that I purchased brand new in Oman. It has been driven approximately 230,000 km (140,000 miles) so far, and the engine is still in great condition. I've had some minor issues like an oil leak from the reservoir cap, and had to replace the SRS spring, key ignition spring, and fix a small water leak from the radiator hose. However, the main challenge I face is that it's difficult to find replacement parts for my car in Tunisia.

My 2008 ES has 275,000 miles on it and still runs smoothly like a new car. I use it as my everyday vehicle and have been prolonging the intervals between oil changes. Mitsubishis outshine Toyotas and Hondas; Subaru merely imitated the Evo, yet their dealerships were lacking. Mitsubishi used to be the top Japanese domestic market car maker until around 2010.

Just wanted to mention that I own a 95 Lancer coupe with over 300,000 kilometers on it. I really enjoy driving it, even though it had some issues when I first bought it. However, now it's driving poorly because many of the mechanics I've taken it to have done a subpar job and ended up causing more problems than they fixed, sometimes even breaking new things on the car. Despite purchasing it for $4,000 secondhand, I've ended up spending over $15,000 in the past 11 years on repairs, with most of that money going towards fixing things that mechanics messed up after supposedly repairing them. Nevertheless, the car is still running. If you find the right mechanic, these vehicles can last a long time. I haven't found one yet, but I remain hopeful that my car can still rack up more miles!

My 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES just reached 340,000 miles and is still running smoothly.
