If your 2017 Chevrolet Volt is no longer under warranty, replacing its 12v battery can be extremely expensive. The battery alone costs nearly $9,000, with installation adding another $500. Fortunately, this part is often covered by many GM warranties, and your 2017 Volt might still be eligible. Hybrid and electric vehicles are fantastic until you need to replace the components that define them. Fortunately, these batteries are built to last 10 to 12 years, which works out to about $950 per year. Even though the cost of electricity can be a bit of a burden, you will save some money on gas.

The appropriate 12V AGM battery with 600 CCA costs roughly $200. My nearby dealership quoted $75 for the labor. The earlier responses mistakenly addressed the High Voltage traction battery instead of the 12V one.
