The cost of replacing the battery in a key fob for a 2015 Chevy Volt varies based on whether you do it yourself or have the dealer handle it. The Volt's key fob uses a CR2032 3-Volt coin cell battery. You can purchase one for less than $5 on Amazon or other online stores. Some dealers might charge up to $15 per battery. Although swapping the batteries only takes a few seconds, having the dealer do it may cost you as much as $50. To replace the battery, open the key blade and use your fingers to pry off the top, which should come apart easily. Then, pop out the old battery, insert the new one with the positive side facing up, and put the cover back on.
On average, the cost of a battery for a 2015 Chevy Volt key fob is between $2 and $7.
