The 2006 Mercedes CLS 500 has an oil capacity of 7.9 quarts. Before changing the oil in the car, make sure the vehicle has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid the hot oil causing burns. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug on the underside. Place a bucket under the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let the oil drain completely, which may take around an hour. Once it has stopped dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan with a funnel until it is full, making sure not to overfill. It is okay to go slightly under the full mark, but overfilling can result in leaks and oil burning off. Close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you are done.
