For the 2012 Toyota Camry with a U760E 6-speed transmission, you will need 6.9 quarts for a complete fill, or 2.9 quarts for an initial fill. Keep in mind that when you replace the transmission fluid, you're only replacing less than half of it. If your transmission fluid is severely worn out or contaminated, you may need to do 2 or 3 fluid changes, driving for a week or two between each change. The recommended fluid for the '12 Camry is DEXRON-VI ATF, and it's recommended to change it every 35,000 to 50,000 miles. Despite the longer interval between changes, it's crucial to regularly check your transmission fluid levels because low fluid levels can lead to serious transmission damage from overheating.
