To swap out the battery in the Chevy Malibu key fob, begin by detaching the back and front sections of the fob. Take out the key and use a small screwdriver in the keyhole to open the fob. Separate the back and front covers, then remove the electronic panel to access the 3-volt battery. This specific CR2032 battery can be bought at most stores and is common in watches and small gadgets. Push out the old CR2032 with the screwdriver and replace it with a new one, making sure it clicks into place with the positive side facing downward. Finally, reassemble the fob by following the previous steps in reverse order.
You have the option to detach the back of the key and take out the battery. Subsequently, you can insert a fresh battery.
