The Chevy Malibu is decent in snowy conditions, but it's not its strong suit. With front-wheel drive, you might encounter some issues if the wrong set of wheels loses traction. The car should be fine in light snow, but I'd advise against taking it out during a heavy snowstorm or when there's more than 4 or 5 inches of snow on the ground. If you must drive it in the snow, think about adding snow chains for better grip. Additionally, it's a good idea to keep a roadside emergency kit in the trunk in case things take a turn for the worse.

I own a 2015 Chevy Malibu, and this past winter was the first time I used it in the snow. Despite having about 80,000 miles on two of the original Good Year Assurance tires and the other two being Goodyear Eagles with an estimated 60,000 miles on them, the car handled the snow pretty well. It did slide a bit, but considering my previous experience with Assurance tires on my old car, I was pleasantly surprised by how the Malibu performed. It only really struggled in very deep snow that caused the car to bottom out. For the upcoming winter, I plan to switch to Michelin Defenders, which have worked great on my wife's Impala, even managing well on pure ice sheets and only spinning when the car had bottomed out in deep snow.
