There could be a couple of reasons why you may find that your FIAT 500 door is not opening. The most common issue is usually due to the pivot pin in the door getting corroded or damaged over time, eventually causing it to break. Before it breaks fully, you may notice that the door is sticking and becomes hard to open. Many drivers have observed that the pin is not well-made, but fortunately, there is an aftermarket kit available with a stronger replacement pin; if you're already replacing it, you might as well upgrade. Alternatively, you might be facing a broken latch or linkage cable issue, although this is less common in the FIAT 500. In any case, you are dealing with a mechanical problem as opposed to an electronic one, so you can start your diagnosis and troubleshooting process from there.
When using the key fob, the passenger door doesn't open. However, after manually opening the door by getting into the car, it can then be closed using the key fob. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If you're having trouble opening the FIAT 500 passenger door from outside, make sure to inspect the linkage cable connected to the latch.
