If you hear clunking sounds coming from the back of your Toyota Camry, it could mean the sway bar bushings are wearing out. This is a common issue with the Camry's suspension system. The sway bar is connected to stabilizer links and bushings at each end, which allow for movement within the assembly. The weight of the car, rough road conditions, and time can all lead to stress on these areas, resulting in the noisy "clunking" sound. Another possible source of rear suspension noise is worn rubber bushings on the Camry's rear strut rod. Over time, these bushings can shrink due to friction and heat, exposing the strut rod to metal-on-metal contact and causing clunking noises at the rear of the vehicle.

I have a 2020 Camry that makes clunking sounds in the front when driving over rough surfaces, speed bumps, and at low speeds. I recommend contacting Toyota Guest Experiences to report this issue. I've already taken my car to the dealer, but they insist it's a "normal" occurrence, which I disagree with. By reporting the issue together, we can hopefully find a resolution.

My wife owns a 2020 Camry with a strange clunking noise coming from the front. We took it to the dealership where four mechanics heard the noise but were unable to identify the issue. Eventually, they claimed the noise disappeared after driving it around, despite me having driven 200 miles with the noise present. They dismissed it as possibly being caused by road debris, which I find hard to believe.
