The issue with the audio controls on the Mitsubishi Lancer's steering wheel is likely caused by either a loose button or a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. Use a screwdriver or prybar to carefully open it. Inside the fuse box, you will find several fuses. Check the diagram on the back of the panel you opened or refer to the owner's manual to identify the fuse for the audio controls. Remove the fuse by pulling it out; if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections is broken, the fuse is faulty and needs replacement. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing around $10.

If the audio controls on your Mitsubishi Lancer's steering wheel aren't functioning, it's advisable to inspect the fuse connected to the radio for any issues.
