To enable Bluetooth in your 2008 Ford Explorer, you must first pair your phone with your vehicle to access SYNC's features. Start by turning on your phone, vehicle, and radio. Ensure that your phone's Bluetooth is on and visible to SYNC. Press the Phone button on your radio to access the Phone Menu and select OK. When prompted to Add a Device, press OK once more. SYNC will then instruct you to press OK to begin device pairing, followed by a request to search for SYNC on your phone. Locate SYNC in your phone's Bluetooth menu and enter the SRX digits displayed on your vehicle's SYNC screen. Grant permission to SYNC on your phone when prompted. That's all there is to it.
The 2008 Ford Explorer can come equipped with Bluetooth through SYNC and wireless phone integration. The XLT V6 and V8 versions offer this as an optional feature, while it is included as standard on the Eddie Bauer V6, Eddie Bauer V8, Limited V6, and Limited V8 models.
