To properly tow a two-wheel-drive Chevy Silverado, it's important not to tow it with all four wheels on the ground as its transmission lacks internal lubrication when being towed. However, if you have an A4WD model, you can tow it by following these steps. For an automatic transmission, shift to PARK (P), or for a manual transmission, shift to FIRST (1). Turn off the engine, but keep the ignition on and engage the parking brake. Switch the transfer case to NEUTRAL. Only release the parking brake once the truck is securely attached to the towing vehicle. Finally, turn off the ignition and keep the steering column unlocked.

The Chevy Silverado is suitable for flat-towing if you have the necessary gear: a base plate kit, tow bar wiring, safety cables, high-low adapter, and a supplemental braking system.
