The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan includes remote starting as a standard feature. To use this function, press the lock button on the remote once, followed by the remote start button twice within a 3-second window. When the remote is pressed, the turn signals will flash, and the daytime running lights will activate during remote start mode. The engine will run for approximately 10 minutes while in remote start mode. This process can be repeated once more if necessary, but the ignition must be cycled on and off before starting remotely again. To deactivate the engine during remote start mode, press the start button on the remote once. To switch the vehicle back to normal operation, insert the key into the ignition and simultaneously press the brake pedal and the start button to keep the engine running.

Not every 2019 Tiguan model is equipped with remote start. It seems that only the SEL and above have this feature. I own a 2019 Tiguan SE without remote start. Volkswagen is asking for approximately $650-$700 to install it. I'd rather skip it and endure the cold.

The Tiguan SE model from 2019 does not come equipped with remote start functionality.

Absolutely. It's the most terrible situation I've ever witnessed. Being fifteen units away doesn't make any difference to me. My 2012 Subaru used to function perfectly from a distance of 300 yards or even when parked inside a building where it couldn't be seen!

I've got a Tiguan SE 4Motion too, and just like yours, it doesn't come with remote start functionality.
