In 2015, the Ford Transit Connect came with a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine as standard, but there was also an option for a larger 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. If your model has the 1.6L engine, it will require a timing belt replacement every 60,000 to 100,000 miles or every 5 years, whichever comes first. On the other hand, if your model has the 2.5L engine, it will come equipped with a timing chain. Timing chains in vehicles with the 2.5L engine are designed to last the entire lifespan of the vehicle and typically do not need replacement unless the vehicle suffers significant damage.

James J is incorrect. The 2015 Ford Transit Connect equipped with the 1.6 tdci engine uses a cambelt, not a timing chain. I can confirm this information as I own a 2015 model and recently replaced the cambelt. According to Ford, it is recommended to change the cambelt every 100,000 miles or every 5 years, whichever occurs first.
