The 2017 Ford Fiesta typically doesn't have transmission issues, but like any car, problems can arise over time, especially if maintenance is neglected and fluid levels are not kept up. If you notice a burning smell, grinding or slipping gears, or unusual noises while driving, it's important to address the issue promptly. Early detection can prevent major repair costs, but ignoring the problem could lead to a complete transmission failure, resulting in significant expenses or even the loss of the vehicle.

The previous versions of Fiesta cars have a reputation for having transmission issues, with owners initiating legal action against Ford in 2017. Ford has been actively working to resolve the escalating transmission problems that necessitate early replacements. The 2017 Fiesta continues to be equipped with the dual clutch transaxle that has been associated with these issues, but the majority of the problems seem to have been resolved. To play it safe, consider purchasing a manual vehicle, as they do not experience transmission issues.

Definitely, they do. My car is a 2017 EcoBoost with a six-speed manual transmission. I've been diligent with all scheduled maintenance and driving normally. The car has clocked in 32,506 miles. Throughout my years of driving, I've never experienced a gearbox failure until now. It's disappointing that it happened at such low mileage. When I reached out to Ford for an explanation, they didn't respond effectively. This experience has probably turned me away from buying another Ford in the future. If a gearbox can only last 32,000 miles, it's not worth the investment. Their lack of support for their products is a major letdown.

Hey Michael, have you made any progress with Ford regarding the problem? My 1967 model experienced the same issue as yours did at 31,000 miles.
