The Volkswagen Jetta uses front wheel drive. It is recommended to replace the power steering fluid every 75,000 miles. In addition to fluid changes, you may notice noises coming from steering components. A malfunctioning bearing can produce unpleasant sounds, with a bad bearing emitting a harsh noise and a loose one causing irritation to the ear. Effective steering is crucial for lane changes and navigating on the road, but issues can arise over time. The rack mount may develop faults, leading to potential leaks in the steering fluid and the possibility of the vehicle veering to one side. The steering wheel could also become stuck, or the steering pump may become loose, posing a serious risk to your vehicle. Furthermore, the strut bearings may deteriorate and require attention.

The majority of Volkswagens come with front-wheel drive, but there are models that offer 4-wheel or all-wheel drive options. As a tow-truck operator with 20 years of experience, I've only come across a few of those in my career. You can identify the 4-wheel drive ones by looking for the "4motion" emblem on the rear of the vehicle. If you look up "VW 4motion" on Google, you'll find a list of VW cars that may come with 4-wheel drive capability.
