The 2005 Chevrolet Malibu comes with a key that has a transponder chip, providing extra security for your car and making it harder for thieves. However, this advanced feature can be costly if you need to purchase a replacement key. Fortunately, if you already have a working key, you can program a new spare key yourself without any extra cost. To do this, simply insert the newly cut key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds. Then, within 45 seconds, turn the key to OFF and back to ON for another 10 minutes and 30 seconds. Repeat this process once more, and the new key should be successfully paired.
