The cabin air filter in a 2005 Chevy Tahoe can be found on the passenger side behind the glove box. The filter is designated by the part number CF10360, available at online retailers or local auto parts stores. It is crucial to maintain the cabin air filter as it is responsible for filtering all the air that enters the vehicle's interior. Although some Tahoe models may not have a cabin air filter due to previous years not using one, you can easily check if yours does by opening the glove box and locating a black panel with a clip. Remove the panel to access the filter.
Just a heads up that not all Chevrolet models, such as my 2005 Tahoe, are equipped with cabin filters. Even newer models like those from 2016 and 2017 also do not come with them. I purchased a filter, removed the cover under the dashboard, but found no access point. Although it was visible where the filter should go, the plastic was solid with no separating "bracket." Feeling puzzled, I watched a video online on how to retrofit a filter. Following that, I contacted my local dealership and, after providing them with the last 8 digits of my VIN, they confirmed that my vehicle indeed does not have a cabin filter. Hopefully, this information helps if you encounter the same confusion I did.
