In all the explorer trims, a CD player comes as a standard feature. If the CD player is not working, it is likely due to a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, check to the left of the steering wheel for a small seam or crack on the dash. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find multiple fuses. There should be a diagram on the back of the panel showing what each fuse controls; if not, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Identify the problematic fuse and carefully pull it out. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections is intact; a broken strip indicates a faulty fuse that needs replacement. If the strip is fine, you can reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are affordable, usually costing around $10.

Every trim level of the Explorer comes equipped with a standard CD player, a feature that is becoming increasingly rare due to manufacturers transitioning away from older technology in favor of more modern options. In certain vehicles, the CD player is not even offered as an optional feature anymore.
