The 2005 Ford F-150 has not been subject to any recalls regarding transmission problems. If you are experiencing issues, it is advised to check for diagnostic codes first. To ensure the longevity of your transmission system, it is recommended to conduct regular maintenance such as changing the transmission fluid every 25,000 to 40,000 miles. Additionally, monitoring the transmission temperature is important, especially when towing heavy loads.

I own a 2005 F-150 FX4 with four-wheel drive that experienced transmission overheating. This caused my truck to catch on fire in 4 high mode due to an issue with the transmission vent tube near the catalytic converter. I'm surprised that there hasn't been a recall for these transmission problems in these trucks.
