Despite many complaints from owners about the windshield trim of the 2019 Ford Explorer, there hasn't been a recall for this issue. Owners have reported that the driver's side windshield molding can detach from the frame while driving at high speeds, typically occurring between 50,000-100,000 miles, especially in vehicles with higher mileage. Service technicians have noted that the trim brackets may break or other parts of the assembly could be at risk of damage. Although the Explorer was recalled for seatback problems, the issue with the windshield trim has not been addressed. The seatbacks in the Explorer may have faulty recliner mechanisms that could lead to instability in the seat, but owners can have these repairs done at a local dealership free of charge.
