The Ford EcoSport offers a remote start feature that can be activated in two different ways. The first option is to use a mobile app that turns your phone into the car's key. If you prefer not to use the app, you can opt for a traditional key fob. If the key fob stops working, it likely needs a new cr2032 battery, which is a common type of small coin-shaped battery. These batteries typically cost around $5 each and can be found where regular batteries are sold. To replace the battery, you'll need to open the back panel of the fob. Some fobs have a sliding back panel that can be easily removed to access the battery, while others may require unscrewing a couple of small screws with a suitable screwdriver.

To remotely start your Ford vehicle, you'll need to download the Ford Pass app from the official Ford website and register your vehicle with the company. Make sure your phone has internet access. Then, follow the instructions on Ford's website to set up remote start for your vehicle. Note that there is no key fob needed for the remote start function. It's uncertain if the basic EcoSport model includes this feature, but my SE model does.

My 2020 Ecosport is equipped with remote start functionality, which can exclusively be activated using the Ford Connect app. Unlike traditional methods, such as using a remote start button on the key fob, this feature requires digital control through the app.
