The 2018 Ford EcoSport didn't include a spare tire as a standard feature on any trim level. However, you had the choice to add one to the S trim level, where it would be mounted on the rear of the vehicle, similar to how you'd find it on a Jeep Cherokee. If your model doesn't come with a spare tire, you can easily purchase and install one yourself for less than $200.
If I want to change my brake pads myself, I'll need to purchase a hydraulic jack and a wrench since there's no spare jack available.
I had a similar issue with my 2019 Ecosport SES – no jack, no tools to remove the nuts, nothing! I had to take it to a garage to have my winter tires installed. After this experience, I've decided it's time to move on from Ford.
I regret purchasing a 2018 Ecosport because it lacks power, has a rough ride, limited space for back seat passengers, and doesn't come with a spare tire. I experienced a blowout that damaged the rim, and I spent $511.58 on a new tire and have been waiting for the replacement rim for 30 days now. Thank you, Ford Motor Company, for your inefficient service.
Well, the 2018 Ford EcoSport does not come with a spare tire included in its standard equipment. You do have the option to include a full-size spare tire on the base S Trim model, which is mounted on the rear door and comes with a jack. Interestingly, this feature was intended to give the EcoSport a similar look to Jeep Wranglers, but it is only available on this particular model.
A typical 2018 Ford EcoSport model does not come equipped with a spare tire, but you can opt for one by selecting the base S trim.
I purchased a 2018 Ford Ecosport last year during a time when car prices were high and the selection was limited. I was disappointed that it did not come with a spare tire, as I had to rely on a can of goop and an air pump. After doing some research, I found a donut spare tire and scissor jack from a salvage yard for $60. The spare is from a 2011 Ford Fiesta and has the same hole size, bolt pattern, and depth to fit the Ecosport perfectly. The jack and wrench came from a 2015 Ford Escape because the wheel size on the Ford Fiesta might affect the Jack screw length and not lift the car high enough for proper clearance when changing a tire. While the spare tire and a small duffel bag of tools take up some trunk space, it's a better alternative to relying on chemicals in case of a flat tire.
