If you have a Mercedes E-Class and need a spare tire, I have important information for you. Your Mercedes E-Class does not have a spare tire, but instead is equipped with "run flat tires." These tires are designed to continue running even if punctured, allowing you to safely get to a tire shop without the risk of a blowout or unsafe driving. With run flat tires, you can reach your destination securely.

I used to drive a 2019 e-300 with a spare tire in the trunk, but now I have a 2022 e-350 that doesn't come with a spare. I really dislike this change, even though the new car has run-flat tires. Is it possible for me to obtain a spare tire to keep in the trunk?

What do you do if your tire suddenly loses air due to a blowout or a bent rim?

The 2017 model does not come with a spare tire. Despite the high cost of these cars, there is no spare tire or jack in case of a blowout. The idea of runflat tires is incredibly foolish. What if you're 50 miles away from a place where you can replace the tire? I believe we should unite and consider starting a class action lawsuit.

None of the Mercedes E models have spare tires, however, they are equipped with run flat tires instead.

Run flat tires are extremely problematic. They are easily damaged, result in a rough ride, create a lot of noise, and can't be found in most tire stores. Removing them resolves all of these issues and greatly improves the driving experience.

In my first year of owning my 2018 E400, I've experienced 3 flat tires. While the car itself is great, the tires have been disappointing. They are both runflats and low profile, meaning there isn't much rubber in the sidewalls. Although low profile tires can boost performance, the E400 isn't a race car. It's a fantastic road car that doesn't require high-performance tires. If anyone has advice on how to switch to higher profile tires, please share. The current setup leaves me vulnerable to being stranded if I get a flat on a Friday evening heading to New York City, as I wouldn't see my car until Monday. And if I were to travel to Vermont in winter, it could turn into a survival situation.

Hey Rajan, what happens if you experience a blowout or damage to the rim that causes the tire to lose pressure instantly? Repairs for run-flat tires are not common, so you will probably need to purchase a new tire. Some manufacturers might offer a free or discounted replacement, but it's not guaranteed.

Certainly! The e300 model comes equipped with a spare tire stored in the rear trunk.
