Positioned on the passenger side of the engine and shielded by a cover, the timing chain receives continuous lubrication from the engine oil, requiring minimal maintenance. A faulty timing chain can lead to engine misfires, rough idling, and starting issues. Replacing a bad timing chain may cost around $300, with most of the expense attributed to labor charges.
