The 2008 Toyota Kluger, also known as the Highlander, is equipped with a timing chain, whether it has a 4-cylinder or V6 engine. Although both the chain and belt serve the same purpose, they differ in their construction. Belts, which are cheaper and made of rubber, will wear out over time and require replacement, whereas chains, being made of metal, can last the lifetime of your engine. However, chains can still be subject to damage and malfunctions, especially if you're noticing engine misfires, rattling at idle, or difficulty starting the engine.
